Her national bestselling memoir, An Unquiet Mind, details her experience living with severe mania and depression. She is a professor of psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University and has researched widely on medication adherence and suicide. She is also the co-director of the Mood Disorders Center at Johns Hopkins.
